A side note: in general these positions are considered practicals as you still have to learn, well, A LOT. Therefore, in general these are not paid positions (some exceptions might prove the rule).

MD-Students:
Please “be aware”: we are a hands-on basic science laboratory! So mostly we do not give out pure meta-analysis studies as topics for your MD.
In addition, the cellular and molecular work is exciting! But it also requires extensive skills and time. If you would like to join us on our tightly supervised roller coaster ride through the adventures of science, and if you are willing to spend 6 months and more fulltime in our laboratory, please do not hesitate to contact us (please send CV, references whom I could contact, copies of your papers/manuscripts, …).

Not sure yet?:
To test if pain signaling is really what you want to investigate, if you and your supervisor-in-spe fit together, and if your skills fit to the project, we offer “on the site” “Schnupperkurse”. Before definitely deciding to jump on one of our projects and to do your bachelor/masters/MD, you may come in for 2-8 h per week for few weeks to learn our central technique: preparation and cultivation of dorsal root ganglia. As soon as you master this technique, we will then sit together to figure out what exactly you will do during your project.
